English Bulldog Determination
6 x 6
oil on masonite
SOLD

If you know Bikram yoga, then you know the teachers say this all the time. English bulldog determination!  This guy is a cast iron piece.  He used to be a (piggy) bank.  He still has a slot in his back, but he has been soldered together so now he is a doorstop.

Two new tigers, to represent bengal tiger strength

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Bengal Tiger Strength
This little tiger has been soooo hard. I think mostly it's the stripes - added interference. And the color - somehow tiger orange doesn't show up on my palette. There were more tiger paintings but they got rubbed out before they dried.
But there are two more that I did last night, that will be scanned and posted as soon as they dry :)

Camel Follows Tortoise

Monday, November 14, 2011

Two more from this week-end. Camel and tortoise. Better with practice - like yoga itself. The question is which do I do tonight, camel painting or camel posture?

Sold

SoldSo I have agreed to put up a show next month at the yoga studio. I could have put up paintings that I've already done but it didn't seem right, so I'm going to do a new set of images that relate to the practice of yoga. And here is the start - rabbit and tortoise - two of the floor postures. Not pictures of the postures themselves but of the totem animals. I bought several plastic and stuffed toys to use as models.
These are the first in this series. And of course they do not seem up to snuff. It takes awhile to learn how to portray each new subject. There are a couple of paintings drying in the studio that look better than these. I"ll post them next week.
