Bengal Tiger Strength

This little tiger has been soooo hard. I think mostly it's the stripes - added interference. And the color - somehow tiger orange doesn't show up on my palette. There were more tiger paintings but they got rubbed out before they dried.

But there are two more that I did last night, that will be scanned and posted as soon as they dry :)

Camel Follows Tortoise

Two more from this week-end. Camel and tortoise. Better with practice - like yoga itself. The question is which do I do tonight, camel painting or camel posture?

SoldSo I have agreed to put up a show next month at the yoga studio. I could have put up paintings that I've already done but it didn't seem right, so I'm going to do a new set of images that relate to the practice of yoga. And here is the start - rabbit and tortoise - two of the floor postures. Not pictures of the postures themselves but of the totem animals. I bought several plastic and stuffed toys to use as models.

These are the first in this series. And of course they do not seem up to snuff. It takes awhile to learn how to portray each new subject. There are a couple of paintings drying in the studio that look better than these. I"ll post them next week.

These have been around for a about a week. Finally got them scanned and posted. Now I'm caught up.

And, um, sorry about the puns.

This one looks like some sort of sea creature so I'm calling it "From the Deep". And it is monstrously large at 12" x 12". Still it is oil on masonite.

It's been awhile since I've posted. I plead that I have been busy with the new job and I just needed to put the painting on pause. But I'm back and here is one more in the series - Bad Jewelry. This one has been sold.

I've been doing these brooches for a couple of months now. I think they are improving, but I still can't get the iridescent quality of the gem stones.
